A local police dog is receiving body armor thanks to a charity dedicated to that purpose.
Jackson Township Police Department’s K9 Aron will wear the custom-made bullet and stab protective vest as a result of a donation from an organization called Vested Interest in K9s. Aron’s vest will be embroidered with “In memory of K9 Rocco, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police”.
K9 Aron is certified for a variety of work including narcotics detection, tracking, and building searches. Aron resides with Officer Pulgini and will work at the Seneca Valley School District main campus in addition to his duties in Jackson Township.
This program is open to all law enforcement K9s in the country. For more information about this organization, visit vik9s.org.
