An investigation is continuing after cadaver dogs training on the main campus of Butler County Community College over the weekend alerted handlers to something in the woods.
According to Scott Richardson- BC3’s director of campus police and security- the area that attracted the canines on Saturday was not part of the group’s training exercise.
The group training the private cadaver dogs called police. An investigation is now centering around a wooded portion of campus near a mound of construction debris. The area is described as dense with excessive vegetation overgrowth with no walking trails or campus buildings nearby.
Richardson says the canines were either seeking certification or re-certification as cadaver dogs. State police and campus police are working jointly on the investigation.
