Department of Agriculture officials are warning after a new invasive insect was found in Erie County.
The box tree moth was discovered in two cemeteries in Erie. The insect feeds on and destroys boxwood shrubs, which are the largest selling evergreen in the country.
The box tree moth spreads primarily through shipping and sales of infected boxwoods.
There is no threat to humans or the food supply according to agriculture officials.
