Tuition for in-state students at Pennsylvania’s 14 state-owned universities- including Slippery Rock University in Butler County- will rise by 3 percent.
The State System of Higher Education’s board of governors approved the $224 increase for next school year at their meeting on Thursday.
It will now cost about $7,700 for most full-time Pennsylvania residents to attend a state school. That cost does not include other fees, including food and housing.
