An illegal immigrant is in Butler County Prison after an arrest in Butler Township earlier this month.
According to Butler Township Police, 25-year-old Edward Jacinto from Guatemala was arrested for DUI, giving false ID and other traffic offenses on July 6th in the 100 block of New Castle Road.
Once law enforcement was able to correctly identify Jacinto, it was determined that he had been deported in 2011 for a conviction of sexual assault of a minor that occurred in Nebraska in 2009.
Because Jacinto had never registered as an offender in Pennsylvania, he was charged with Failure to Comply with Registration. US Immigration and Custom Enforcement and the US Marshals have placed detainers on Jacinto.
Securing a Green Card to live and work in the US legally as an immigrant is a highly complex process.
According to US immigration law, citizens and permanent residents of the United States can sponsor family members for a Green Card. To do so, the sponsor must complete and file form i-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Additionally, if the US citizen or permanent resident is sponsoring is a spouse, they also need to file Form i-130a (Supplemental Information for Spouse Beneficiary).
The completed i-130a form must be submitted to USCIS along with Form i-130 together with any other supporting documentation and required fees. You can learn more about immigration forms by visiting the Nova Credit website.
