IGA and Friedman’s Freshmarkets are beginning a new partnership to offer fundraising opportunities.
Carol Bitter, owner of Friedmans tells our newsroom that the process goes like this. You shop at Friedman’s, buy IGA items and then save the labels. Band the labels together in groups of 500 and then send them to IGA headquarters. Upon review of the labels, a check will be sent back to Friedman’s. The grocery store will then present the check to the organization.
This effort is for church groups, scout groups, or any non-profit organization.
The Independent Grocers Alliance, or IGA, was formed in 1926 to bring together independent grocers across the country to ‘ensure that the trusted, family-owned local grocery store remained strong in the face of growing chain competition.’
