Pennsylvania State Police making a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Clarion County last summer ended up identifying three people sought by the FBI.
The three New Yorkers were wanted for their part in a multi-state $33 million wire fraud, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
State police said $27,000 of stolen money was recovered during the traffic stop and returned to an elderly victim in Ohio.
A federal indictment was handed down Thursday involving the New Yorkers.
