Motorists traveling on a portion of Interstate 79 in Butler County should expect slower than normal traffic due to a project beginning today.
According to PennDOT, the work will take place between Exit 88 Little Creek Road and Exit 105 Slippery Rock between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. through November 1st.
A contractor will be paving as well as installing fiber optic cable conduit across three bridges. The total cost of this project is nearly $26 million.
Lane restrictions as a result of this work will slow traffic and could result in periodic stoppage.
