Hunters across the state took to the woods this weekend as another wild turkey season began.
It started Saturday (10/31) and continues in most of Butler County through Nov. 14 and then again from Nov. 26-28.
Hunters are required to wear 250 inches of fluorescent orange on their head, chest, and back combined, which should be visible from all angles.
Officials say this requirement has decreased the number of fall turkey hunting accidents from 38 in 1990 to just one in 2014.
Hunters who harvest or find leg-banded or satellite-transmitted turkeys are required to report using the stamped toll-free number on the bird.
