Butler County Judge Marilyn Horan had a hearing Wednesday before the Senate Judicial Committee.
The confirmation hearing is necessary to become a federal judge. Testimony from five other court nominees was also heard. The committee will now decide whether to send the nominees to the full Senate for a vote.
Horan was nominated back in July by President Obama to fill a vacancy on the federal bench in Pittsburgh. She has been a Butler County Court judge since 1996.
