A man accused of killing a University of Pittsburgh student over the weekend is a Seneca Valley High School graduate.
Matthew Darby, 21, now of Greensburg, was arrested early Wednesday morning in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He is charged with homicide in the death of 20-year-old Alina Sheykhet, who was found dead Sunday in her Oakland apartment near Pitt’s main campus. The cause of her death was ruled blunt force trauma.
Police say the two dated while they were both students at Pitt’s Greensburg campus. Darby attended Pitt Greensburg to play basketball after playing ball and graduating from Seneca Valley in 2014. He formerly lived in Cranberry Township.
