Police still don’t know why a former Butler County woman and a Westmoreland County man beat a woman to death, dumped her body and set it on fire.
Investigators arrested 32-year-old Amanda Cypher, formerly of Butler Township and now of Franklin, and 28-year-old Richard Kennedy, of Vandergrift, on Friday. The victim is 25-year-old Tausha Lee Baker of Franklin.
State police are assisting Franklin Police with the investigation. An autopsy was performed on Baker’s body Monday and results are pending.
Cypher and Kennedy remain in the Venango County Prison.
According to State Police, firefighters were sent to a brush fire in Franklin, Venango County on Friday. When they put out the fire, they discovered a body.
Cypher reportedly had a Butler Township address as recently as September.
