One person was flown to an area hospital early Saturday morning after they were shot while trying to break into an Armstrong County home.
The State Police in Kittaning say that just after 2:30am yesterday, 21-year-old Brandon Vallies was attempting to break into a Dayton home through the kitchen door when the homeowner ordered him to leave.
Authorities say that after Vallies continued to try and enter the home, the homeowner then shot Vallies in the torso. He was then flown to UPMC Presby in Pittsburgh with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say that while the case is still under investigation, they do not plan on filing charges on the homeowner, as the shooting appeared justifiable.
