A hitchhiker is claiming two people from the Pittsburgh area drove off with his belongings in their car.
The victim- 63-year-old Ronald Johnson of Pittsburgh- told police he was in the process of hitchhiking from New York City to Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon when the vehicle he was in stopped at the Pilot Travel Center in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County. He said he only knew the people who were driving him as Rudy and Lorraine from the “Pittsburgh area.”
Johnson says he went into the travel center to buy some refreshments and that’s when the two people took off with his belongings still in their car. The victim says several items were taken including a laptop computer and a cell phone.
State Police in Butler say they were unable to talk with anyone who witnessed the alleged theft and they couldn’t find any surveillance video to show the vehicle driving away.
