If history is any indication, voter turnout will be low today.
In last May’s primary- which was also in a non-presidential election year- only about 20 percent (19.79) of registered voters in Butler County visited the polls– 18 percent of Democrats and 21 percent of Republicans.
Last year, there were 108,625 registered voters at the time of the May primary, but only 21,499 ballots were cast.
The voter turnout in the May 2017 primary was only 15 percent.
However, during the last presidential primary (April 2016), voter turnout was 44 percent.
