Tear down of the former historic Worsley’s building in downtown Butler is tentatively scheduled to begin next week.
According to Butler City Building Code Official John Evans, the process is expected to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and last four to six weeks.
Evans said extra time will be needed because the building shares two common walls with other buildings and those will need reinforced. The company doing the demolition will be required to seed and mulch the area when finished.
Evans plans to observe the site twice a day to make sure precautions are being taken for pedestrian safety.
