The Knoch baseball team lost for the first time this season, falling to Deer Lakes 4-1 Wednesday. The Knights are the top-ranked Triple-A team, who won the WPIAL and PIAA championships last season. Cole Shinsky, who went unbeaten last season, took the loss.

Freeport-11 Valley-0. Kristie Radvan had her second no-hitter of the season. Striking out 11. The first time it was not a perfect game because of an error. This time she completed the perfect effort.
North Allegheny-15 Pine-Richland-0.
The Butler Girls Track and Field team opened WPIAL Class AAA Section 3 play yesterday by defeating Pine Richland 115-35 and Fox Chapel 126-24 at Pine Richland Stadium. The team is now 2-0.
It was a strong overall effort by the Golden Tornado. Dual winners included Emily Horstman won the 100 and 200, Julianna DiPippa in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, Odile Enslen in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles and Jena Reinheimer won the shot put and discus. Overall – the girls won 16 of 18 events including sweeps in the 400 meters, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus and Javelin. Also earning first places finishes were Maggie Welty, Alexis Leech, Liz Simms, Emily Sespico, Jillian Tilko, Liz Rakers and Taylor Weaver.
