The honor marks the third time this season that Hinderliter has been named the PSAC-West’s top freshman.
Hinderliter helped Slippery Rock extend its winning streak to three games with a 78-67 win at West Liberty University as well as a near upset in an exhibition game against North Carolina A&T.
The Seminole, Pennsylvania native scored 14 points, grabbed three rebounds, passed out two assists and made one steal over 27 minutes in Slippery Rock’s win against West Liberty. She had an excellent game shooting, going 4-for-7 from the field overall, 1-for-1 in 3-point attempts and 5-for-5 at the foul line. The 14 points were the most for Hinderliter since she scored 18 points in SRU’s season-opening win at Johnson C. Smith on Nov. 11. She also scored nine points in 15 minutes against North Carolina A&T.
Hinderliter has played in all 11 games for Slippery Rock as a freshman, making 10 starts while averaging 8.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 45.5 percent (30-of-66) from the field and 81 percent (34-of-42) at the foul line.
