Boys Soccer:
–Butler-5 Shaler-0. Justin Stewart led Butler with a hat trick in their first section game of the season. . Tate Mohney had a goal and three assists. Andrew Chwalik was in net for the shut-out.

–Freeport-2 Valley-1. The Yellow Jackets trailed 1-0 at halftime, but Hunter Hardin tied the score on penalty kick at the 20-minute mark. Senior Captain Alec Parker scored the game-winner with 15 minutes remaining to keep the Yellow Jackets undefeated. Freeport is now 5-0, 3-0 in section-play.

–North Allegheny-1 Seneca Valley-0.

Cross Country:
–Butler Boys Cross Country team opened their dual-meet season with a sweep of Knoch (15-49) and North Allegheny (27-29). All-State performer Noah Beveridge, a senior, set a course record with his win. Senior Brett Brady was third. Aden Dressler fifth.
–The Butler Girls split their meet, topping Knoch (23-36), but falling to N.A. (25-34). All-State peformer Maggie Welty was runner-up. Sophomores Chelsey Kabel and Autumn Pettinato were fourth and fifth.
Girls Volleyball:
–Butler-3 North Hills-2 in the section opener last night. Scores were: 25-19, 19-25, 25-14, 22-25 and 16-14. Leaders for the Golden Tornado: Maria Lucas with 16 kills and 22 digs. Heidi Gross had 11 kilss and seven digs. Sophia Sacroponte had 10 kills and four digs. Butler will visit Shaler Thursday.

Girls Golf:
–Butler-188 Indiana-217. Hannah Folk of Butler was the medalist with a 41.
–Pine-Richland-173 Armstrong-217.
Boys Golf:
–Moniteau took another KSAC Mega Match Tuesday, edging Karns City by one point. Moniteau’s Weston Kimmey led all golfers with a 39. Nate Tack had a 40. Hunter Gifford of Karns City was third with a 42.
–Freeport and Knoch tied at 215 in regulation. Freeport won the match on the second playoff hole.
