High School Sports Results from Monday:
Girls Soccer:
–Butler defeated North Hills 3-1. Brittnie Spithaler scored twice and Liz Simms added the other Butler goal. Butler is now 4-3 overall, 2-1 in section play. The Golden Tornado host North Allegheny Wednesday at the Intermediate high school at 7:30pm.
–Freeport shutout Springdale 3-0. Piper Claypool had two goals and an assist. Sidney Shemanski scored the other goal for the Yellow Jackets. Freeport is now 7-1 overallm and improved to 4-0 in section play.

–Pine-Richland-4 North Allegheny-2.

Girls Tennis:
–Butler-5 Hampton-0.
Over the weekend the Slippery Rock high school Girls Softball team hosted a battle with their teachers called the “First Annual Battle on the Hill”. The teachers won the game against the three-time Section 4A, District-10 champions. Slippery Rock high school teacher Mr. Kovac was the teachers MVP with a 4-for-4 effort and three home runs. MVP for the Lady Rockets was Darrah Lynch, who went 2-for-3.
They held a home run derby as well, won by parent T.J. Sommers with 14. Girls winner was 13-year old Crystal Lynn of Freeport.
