Baseball:
–Moniteau defeated Karns City 13-3 Thursday in the District 5-9 semifinals. It was the first loss of the season for the Gremlins. Hunter Fitzingo allowed just two hits over six innings of work for the Warriors. He struck out five. Moniteau moves into the championship game against Chestnut Ridge Tuesday.
–Mars defeated Hampton 4-0 in the WPIAL 5A semifinals. The Planets improved to 16-5 this season, and will meet North Hills (19-3) in the championship game next Wednesday at the Washington Wild Things Park. Game time is 5pm. North Hills defeated West Allegheny 11-4 Thursday.
–Grove City will meet Harbor Creek tonight at Slippery Rock University at 6:30pm in the District-10 semifinals. The championship game is Monday at SRU.
Softball:
–The Slippery Rock high school softball team defeated Grove City 11-1 Thursday in the District-10 semifinals, and have advanced into the D10 championship game Monday against Warren.
Boys Volleyball:
–Butler defeated Seneca Valley 3-0 Thursday to win the WPIAL 3A consolation game. The Golden Tornado advance into the PIAA tournament next week.
–North Allegheny won the 3A championship with a 3-1 victory over Bethel Park.
Girls Lacrosse:
–Pine-Richland defeated Sewickley Academy 11-3 Thursday to win the WPIAL 3A championship.
–Franklin Regional defeated Mars 13-8 in the 2A consolation game.
Boys Lacrosse:
–Mars will meet Hampton tonight in the WPIAL 2A championship game. The match begins at 8pm at Robert Morris University.
–North Allegheny will meet Peters Township at 3pm today at Robert Morris in the 3A title game.
–Pine-Richland will meet Mt. Lebanon in the 3A consolation game at 6pm.
