WPIAL Softball Playoffs:
–The Knoch girls defeated Uniontown 7-6 in 9-innings in the Class 4A First Round. Brynne Smith had a walk-off single, driving home Lizzie Danik with the winning run. Danik had four hits for Knoch, while Marlee Fraser pitched a complete game and struck out 13 batters. The Knights will meet Chartiers Valley in the Quarterfinals Wednesday.
WPIAL Boys Lacrosse Playoffs:
–North Catholic defeated Trinity 8-6 in the Class 2A First Round. The Trojans will face Hampton Wednesday.
–Seneca Valley will host Hempfield tonight at 7pm in the Class 3A First Round.
–Butler will travel to Upper St. Clair also at 7pm in the 3A First Round.
The Seneca Valley girls fell 15-6 to Canon-McMillan in the Class 3A First Round.
WPIAL Boys Volleyball Playoffs:
–Butler will host Central Catholic tonight at 7pm in the Class 3A First Round.
–Seneca Valley will host Moon also at 7pm.
District 9 Baseball:
–Moniteau shutout Cranberry 17-0 in six innings.
–AC Valley/Union swept a doubleheader from Keystone, winning the first game 16-1 in four innings, and game two 19-7.
Softball:
–AC Valley/Union swept Keystone by scores of 10-0 in five innings, and 18-4 in six innings.
–Cranberry defeated Moniteau 10-9.
District 10 Baseball:
–Slippery Rock-9 Conneaut-0.
–Grove City-10 Oil City-3.
Softball:
–Franklin-9 Slippery Rock-0.
