High School Sports:
The PIAA Baseball Playoffs begin today.
–Freeport and Franklin meet in the 3A First Round at Slippery Rock University. First pitch is 4pm.
–In 2A – Moniteau will face Serra Catholic in DuBois at 3:30pm.
–Pine-Richland gets Manheim Township in Latrobe at 6:30pm in the 6A First Round. North Allegheny travels to Erie to play McDowell at 4pm.
Softball:
–Knoch will face Grove City in the PIAA 4A First Round at Slippery Rock University. Game time is 4:30pm.
–North Allegheny and Central Dauphin at Lebanon Valley College at 4pm in the 6A First Round.
Several games are being played at Historic Pullman Park.
The Pine-Richland and Mars Boys Lacrosse teams were eliminated from the PIAA tournament Saturday. Mars lost to Hershey 13-8 in the 2A quarterfinals. The Rams lost 15-7 to Conestoga in the 3A quarterfinals.
