In the District-9 Double-A Golf Championships Saturday:
Kolby Montgomery of AC Valley/Union finished third. Weston Kimmey of Moniteau was fourth. Both have advanced to the regionals at Tom’s Run in Blairsville later this month.
On Saturday the Butler Boys and Girls Cross Country teams travelled north to Cooper’s Lake Campground for the annual SRU Cross Country Invitational at the Cooper’s Lake race course. Butler’s Noah Beveridge finished first overall in a time of 16:26. Brett Brady medaled with an eighth place finish. The Butler Boys finished second overall behind 2015 state qualifier Mt. Lebanon. There were 24 boys teams competing.
The Butler Girls finished sixth overall out of 18 teams led by Maggie Welty, who was the runner-up. Welty finished 19 seconds behind the winner from Chambersburg.
