Boys Soccer:
Freeport remains undefeated with a 4-0 win over Mt. Pleasant. Bryce Hanby and Kevin Lynch scored two goals each. The Yellow Jackets improved to 11-0-1.
North Allegheny-1 Butler-0.
Seneca Valley-1 Pine-Richland-0 in overtime.
Mars-4 Highlands-1.
Knoch and Greensburg Salem tied at 2-2 in overtime.
Girls Volleyball:
Shaler-3 Butler-1. Emily Archer had 15 kills for Butler. Julia Gibson had 12 kills.
Seneca Valley-3 North Hills-0.
AC Valley-3 Venango Catholic-0.
North Clarion-3 Karns City-0.
Freeport-3 East Allegheny-0.
The Butler High Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams closed out the Dual Meet portion of their seasons in fine fashion as both teams defeated North Hills and Mars.
The girl’s were once again led by the excellent performance of Junior standout Maggie Welty leading the way with her first place performance. But, one runner doesn’t a team make. As junior Erin Lemay, Seniors Michaela Brydon & Lucy Lewis as well as Juniors Carly Bauer and Emma Lemay swept place 5 through 9 sealing the win for the lady Tornados over both North Hills and Mars, 27 to 29 and 18 to 41 respectively. The Girls finished the dual meet season with a 6 and 2 record.
Not to be out done, the Boys used team racing tactics to run away from both North Hills and Mars as they took 7 of the top ten places. Being led by the performances of Noah Beveridge, Brett Brady, Camden Seybert, Steve Patterson, Aden Dressler, Robbie Hays and Nick Collins. They took a win away from both North Hills and Mars – 18 to 43 and 20 to 42 respectively. The boys also finished off the dual meet season with a 6 and 2 record.
The Tornado XC teams next travel to California University of Pennsylvania for the Tri-State Coaches Invitational on Thursday October 20th
