
According to Mike White of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, North Catholic high school has decided to open the football coaching position. Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Jason Gildon was let go after two seasons. Gildon was 17-6 over the two years as head coach and the team reached the WPIAL semi-finals last season.
Last night Erie Cathedral Prep won the first game of the PIAA football state championships being held in Hershey. Prep won the 4-A championship with a 27-20 win over Imhotep Charter. Prep scored 18 points in the fourth quarter to win the title. Two championship games will be played today. Three tomorrow.
