Thunderstorms with heavy rain will bring the potential for flooding later today.
Butler County will definitely see rainfall, but the heaviest showers will be outside the county. Southeastern Armstrong County and central Indiana County are under a Flood Warning through early Saturday. In addition, most of southwestern Pennsylvania is under a Flash Flood Watch through late tonight.
One person drowned in Indiana County Thursday evening. Authorities say the 30-year-old man was in a kayak trying to clean debris from an overflow pipe used in a pond when he drowned.
Route 422, near Shelocta, was closed this morning because of a flooded bridge. PennDOT said it was unsure when the bridge would reopen.
