Hearings will continue Tuesday on the issue of school safety in Pennsylvania.
A panel of state lawmakers are meeting with local officials, school employees and residents in three different communities. Discussions will be held today in Hermitage, Mercer County at Artman Elementary School.
Senator David Argall- Chairman of the Senate Majority Policy Committee- says there are a number of things they hope to learn during these hearings.
“We’re very interested in how we can improve school safety- at small schools, large schools, rural schools, city schools..everywhere,” Argall said. “What laws do we need to pass. What rules do we need to have in our local schools to help to save lives.”
The panel spent time in Washington County on Monday and will travel to Lebanon County on Wednesday.
