An Armstrong County resident and health care plan supervisor pleaded guilty in federal court to both mail and health care fraud.
Authorities say 48-year-old Francine Priestas of Rural Valley was employed as a supervisor in the UPMC Health Plan Claims Department when she generated billing statements that falsely represented that she and others received medical services.
She allegedly submitted over 150 false statements on the UPMC system and received payments totaling over $180,000.
She will be sentenced in January and could face a lengthy prison time and over $2 million in fines.
