Butler County Community College will hold its first induction for the newly-named Charles W. Dunaway Pioneer Hall of Fame Saturday, since the passing of the former BC3 athletics director after whom the hall is named. The accomplishments of current golf head coach Bill Miller, retired coach Dick Hartung and former President Dr. Thomas Ten Hoeve will be recognized during the Class of 2023 induction ceremony that begins at 1pm in the BC3 Field House. The college will also honor Class of 2021 inductee Stefan Carlsson and four BC3 student-athletes who have been named All-Americans since last June.
Bill Miller’s golf squads have won 14 championships, and Dick Hartung’s men’s and women’s basketball teams 11. Dr. Ten Hoeve, who was the college’s second president from 1970 to 1984, was instrumental in raising funds for the construction of the current Field House. Carlsson is the Pioneers only two-time All-American in golf.
