A Slippery Rock University student and Seneca Valley graduate is moving on in a reality television show on the History Channel.
Eric Finch of Harmony competed on an episode of “Forged In Fire” where contestants forge bladed weapons for the approval of a panel of judges and a cash prize.
He won his episode that aired earlier this week.
Finch says his work in forging began a couple of years ago after taking a blacksmithing class at Camp Lutherlyn. He says it’s been a fun, creative outlet for him over the past few years.
“I’m someone that likes to make and create things, especially on the mechanical side. I love creating something out of metal from nothing, it just kind of related to me in a lot of ways,” Finch said. “I think that’s why I love it so much.”
Forged in Fire airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on the History Channel.
