The first of two Hard To Collect recycling events in May will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016.
This will be a household chemical collection event at North Park, just across the Butler County line in Allegheny County, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Justin Stockdale, the Western Regional Director of the PA Resources Council, told our newsroom that items like pesticides, pool chemicals, lawn chemicals and automotive fluid. He says garbage collectors will not take such items and these items are those that we know cannot go down the drain.
The second event this month will take place in the Pittsburgh Mills Mall area, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, for items other than household chemicals.
Every summer, the PRC holds multiple collection events and tries to cover areas in a six-county region each summer.
