Adams Township Police are continuing their investigation after a gun was allegedly brought into a high school basketball game this past Friday night.
Police have not confirmed the identity of any suspects, but according to district superintendent Mark Gross “officers responded immediately to this incident and apprehended the individual with a weapon.”
The incident happened after Friday night’s game versus South Fayette at Mars High School. Soon after the conclusion, police alerted people to take cover due to a gun on campus.
Gross said that police officers had a “quick and diligent response” and that a “few” were detained by police. Gross added that no one was harmed and the location was secure.
At this moment, no further details are available.
Gross also said the individual was not a student at the Mars Area School District.
