The Grove City wrestling team won the 34-team Burgettstown Invitational Saturday. Grove City posted a point total of 208-1/2 to second-place Armstrong’s 183.
The Butler wrestlers took ninth out of 58 teams at the Mid-Winter Mayhem tournament at IUP over the weekend. Santino Sloboda took first place for the second straight year at the tourney, posting wins over the #3-ranked AAA wrestler in Pennsylvania and the #3-ranked AA wrestler. He is now 18-0 this season. Kase Chopp finished third. His only loss was to the top-ranked AAA wrestler in western Pennsylvania and the nation (Bo Bassett of Bishop McCort). Butler will travel to the Clearfield Duals this Saturday.
