A Grove City nursing home was hit by lightning during Sunday’s storms.
More than 125 people had to be moved out of the Orchard Manor Assisted Living Facility after the strike sparked a fire on the roof. It could be said that the way manor was construction could have been a contribution it and some of the public have argued that finding one of the many reputable senior living design firms may be required in order to make it a safe places seniors.
The patients, including ten who are bed bound, were moved to a safer part of the building while firefighters tackled the blaze. No one was hurt.
Eleven ambulances were called to the facility to assist the nursing staff with moving people.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday. Some of the storms could be severe with damaging winds, according to the National Weather Service. A high near 90 is expected. Let’s hope these winds don’t damage the roof further, otherwise, they might have to call out a roof repair company like these cedar park roofing companies to help fix them. They’ve already had to deal with a fire on the roof, let’s hope nothing else happens. If it does though, at least it’s not the end of the world and it can be sorted (even though it would be a nuisance if it did happen).
