Cooperstown inducted their two newest members into the baseball hall of fame yesterday.
Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza were selected into the Baseball Hall of Fame Griffey, who played 22 seasons, was selected on a record 99.32 percent of ballots cast. The centerfielder, who is going in with a Seattle Mariners cap, is sixth on the all-time home run list with 630, was the American League MVP in 1997, and was a 13-time All-Star.
Piazza, a catcher, is just the second player to go into the Hall of Fame wearing a New York Mets cap, along with pitcher Tom Seaver. He played for 16 years and hit 427 home runs, including a record 396 as a catcher, and was a 12-time All-Star.
