Local historical facilities are invited to apply for state grant funding.
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission recently announced that applications for nearly $2 million in statewide Cultural and Historical Support Grants are now being accepted.
The goal of this program is to strengthen the state’s museums by supporting operations of eligible organizations that are not supported by other state agency funding programs. An eligible museum must have an annual operating budget exceeding $100,000 and at least one full-time professional staff person to receive up to $65,000.
All county historical societies are eligible to receive grants of up to $4,000. The Butler County Historical Society and Historic Harmony have received funding from these grants in recent years. The deadline to submit through the Commonwealth’s Single Application for Assistance system is August 23rd.
