Pennsylvania farmers should be aware of grant money available to help protect against farm vehicle injury or death.
A new Penn State program allows for state reimbursement to pay for retrofitting older tractors with roll-over protection structures known as ROPS.
A three-year $250,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development allows for a 70% reimbursement on the cost of the equipment.
There is currently a waitlist for this program with applicants receiving assistance on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested farmers are asked to visit the national ROPS rebate program website.
