The governor will call a special session of the Legislature this year to address the prescription opioid epidemic.
The session is expected to convene by the end of summer or early fall.
The House of Representatives has several pieces of legislation ready that they believe will help address.
“It’s such an important issue that we’re fighting together as a team to help do whatever we can to solve these problems,” local Rep. Tedd Nesbit said Thursday.
Almost two-thirds of the 47,000 overdose deaths nationwide in 2014 were opioid-related.
