Governor Tom Wolf was in the Pittsburgh area yesterday continuing his push to give direct payments to state residents.
Wolf says the plan would give $2,000 to residents who earn less than $80,000 per year.
“With inflation and the way the Federal Reserve is choosing to fight inflation things are going to be tougher,” Wolf said. “So we really need to come up with solutions to how we’re going to help families make it through.”
Wolf estimates that around 250,000 people would benefit from this program. He adds that the projected cost to the state would be around $500 million.
