Legislation aimed at continuing the fight against abuse and addiction in Pennsylvania has been signed into law.
The five bill package was signed by Governor Tom Wolf during a ceremony Wednesday.
The bills include improvements in the prescription drug monitoring program, new options for the disposal of unwanted pharmaceuticals, and limits on the amount of opioid painkillers dispensed in emergency rooms and urgent care centers.
Another measure calls on medical schools across the state to include the dangerous effects of powerful painkillers as part of their curriculum.
