It caught the ear of some people last week when Pennsylvania’s governor made comments that it’s time for the state to seriously consider legalizing recreational marijuana.
Governor Tom Wolf says he’s just being a realist and will continue to follow what’s happening elsewhere.
“I’m looking at what’s happening around us and in the neighboring states- New York and New Jersey,” Wolf said. “I’m just trying to be a realist. I’m keeping my eyes open.”
The governor says his comments come in the wake of a changing environment on the issue.
“We just can’t duck our heads in the sand and say that things aren’t happening,” he said.
Wolf also said though he’s open to hearing more, he’s not suggesting that he, or the legislature, take the lead on the issue.
