Pennsylvania’s House and Senate Republican leaders have submitted a new Congressional district map to the governor.
The map was drawn over two days by House Speaker Mike Turzai and Senate President Pro Tem Jo Scarnati, without input from minority Democrats.
Senate Republican lawyer Drew Crompton says some of the congressional districts have changed.
Minority Democrats have written Governor Tom Wolf, urging him to reject the maps and charging that the GOP leadership refused to negotiate.
“We complied with the words of the order,” Crompton said. “We did what we could do in light of us being hamstrung.”
A spokesman for the governor says he is still reviewing the document. He has until Thursday to submit the document to the state Supreme Court.
All of Butler County is under the 3rd Congressional District, which is represented by Mike Kelly of Butler.
