A Western Pennsylvania businessman is ready to throw his hat into the ring in the race for governor in 2018.
Paul Mango said at the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania GOP’s breakfast in Harrisburg Monday that he would be running for the republican nomination.
Butler County Commissioner Leslie Osche, who was at the meeting, confirmed that Mango showed intentions of seeking the bid.
The 57-year-old Mango has never run for political office. He is currently a senior partner at the Pittsburgh firm McKinsey and Company.
Mango would join State Senator Scott Wagner (R) of York County in the race for the governorship.
Former Lieutenant Governor Jim Crawley and Congressman Mike Kelly have also been rumored to be weighing a bid for the republican nomination.
