Today is the Christian holiday of Good Friday and some government offices will be closed in observance.
County government offices are closed, including the Butler County Courthouse. The Butler City Building is also closed today.
Federal and state offices are open, as well as post offices and liquor stores. Liquor stores will be closed on Easter Sunday.
The Butler Transit Authority will operate on a regular schedule today and throughout the weekend. ‘The Bus’ never operates on Sundays.
The Butler YMCA will host its annual Good Friday Breakfast today. It’s the 68th year for the event- which is held in the YMCA gymnasium on North Washington Street in the City of Butler. This year’s guest speaker will be Kathy Emmons, a native Pittsburgher and Christian radio host.
The Jewish holiday of Passover begins Friday evening and ends on Saturday, April 7.
