Golfing legend Arnold Palmer has passed away at the age of 87. He was to undergo heart surgery today after being admitted Thursday. Palmer emerged from Latrobe high school, where he won five West Penn Amateur titles his senior year, and went on to win the U.S. Amateur seven years later in 1954. He then won 62 times on the PGA Tour. He had made his final appearance at The Masters back in April.
