A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help a young local couple critically injured in a crash on Route 8 earlier this week.
Zach and Jenny Martin were on their way to work Wednesday morning when they were struck by another vehicle as they were crossing Route 8 on Airport Road. Jenny is the Music Teacher at Penn Christian Academy in Penn Township.
Both Jenny and Zach were severely injured and needed to be flown to Pittsburgh for treatment. Jenny’s injuries include a broken clavicle, more than 10 shattered ribs, a punctured and partially collapsed lung, and major abdominal bleeding. Zach sustained seven broken bones in his neck and will be immobilized following a surgery to place a rod and pins in vertebrae.
They are in need of financial assistance during the weeks and months which they will not be able to work. Anyone who is able to help is asked to visit the Go Fund Me page for Jenny and Zach Martin which has donations of nearly $12,000 as of Friday afternoon.
