The San Francisco Giants hammered Pittsburgh Pirates starter Jameson Taillon on their way to an 11-3 victory last night. Taillon was rocked for 10 runs, nine of which were earned, and nine hits over just three innings. The Pirates had 12 hits of their own, but stranded 11 runners. Taillon has had a string of poor starts, and his ERA has climbed to 4.03. Giants starter Madison Bumgarner allowed six hits but just one run over five innings to earn his first win of the season.

Giants utility player Eduardo Nunez was pulled from the game in the fifth inning last night because he had been traded to the New York Yankees. The Giants received two minor league pitchers for Nunez, who was batting .308 with 21 doubles and 18 stolen bases.
