The San Francisco Giants won the National League Wild Card game 3-0 over the New York Mets Wednesday. Conor Gillaspie hit a three-run home run in the top of the 9th inning. Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner threw a complete-game four hitter for the victory. The Giants open their N.L. Divisional Series in Chicago tomorrow night against the Cubs.
Bumgarner also tossed a four-hitter to end the Pittsburgh Pirates season in the N.L. Wild Card in 2014.
Today in the American League: the Texas Rangers will host the Toronto Blue Jays at 4:38pm in a best-of-five series.
