A local grocery store has announced a change in policy regarding people carrying weapons.
Giant Eagle has posted a statement online that it will no longer allow people to openly carry firearms in all Giant Eagle, Market District or GetGo locations unless those people are law enforcement officers.
A previous policy guided employees on how to address a customer who was concerned about another customer openly carrying a firearm.
Giant Eagle’s statement says that they respect the rights of everyone who shops there but they also recognize the heightened concern some customers may feel when they encounter someone visibly carrying a weapon.
